Musee Oceanographique
We had finally made it. Finally.
8 trains, an (overpriced) taxi, and a bus later, my sister and I had finally made it to Monaco. We'd left from Florence, Italy at 5 the day before, and 16 hours later...there it was.
When we stepped off the train, I breathed out a sigh of relief and breathed in a mouthful of sea air. Monaco is one of the richest countries in the world, and it showed: all the houses were immaculate, the cars, new, and the people, dressed in designer duds. I found myself wondering what a poor "Monican" would look like.
I pushed those thoughts out of my head and focused on our real destination: The Musee Oceanographique de Monaco, or the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco. After hearing great things about the exhibit, my nature-savvy sister and I decided to take a little detour to Monaco to see the museum.
The detour was definitely worth our while. The mountainous community that wound down to the ocean, the harbor with ridiculously expensive yachts, and especially the Musee de Oceanographique.
